January 2010

First post of the new year. I don’t really believe in new year’s resolution because, although they’re a great idea, there’s really no point because these resolution are only going to set goals for you that you should already have to begin with. Wow that was a long sentence. Anyway, people make new year’s resolutions because they have things they want to accomplish during the new year. Making the resolution for the new year is an excuse to not make the resolution right then and there. How lazy can you be? Make the resolution, and whether or not you complete your goals is completely up to you. Many times people make these resolutions and then by the end of the year they realize “oops” none of the resolutions have been completed. These should be long term or short term goals with no real time limit because who knows how long each goal will take to complete?

On other new year news, I recently got a job as a waitress at a nearby fine dining restaurant for my college’s alumni, professors, and students. The job pays rather well for a waitress job and the atmosphere between the workers and the managers is great compared to past jobs. Everyone is friendly. No one is afraid to ask questions. We joke around with each other, help out, and do our jobs. I think I will really like this place. Although a shift is usually quite a few hours, and my legs are pretty dead by the end, and sometimes I dread going, when I’m actually working I enjoy all the time I spend with people.

Writing is going well too. My new writing class has us writing different things every week and our assignments are very long. It’s a good way to practice and have fun at the same time. Hopefully my skills improve. As for a major, I am still unsure but I know eventually I’ll find something I want to do.
