this is a guilty pleasure

What exactly is a guilty pleasure? What makes that something a guilty pleasure? Is it indulging in something that is not socially acceptable? Is it guiltily pleasurable? Why does it make you feel guilty? Something that is marked as a pleasure shouldn’t also be called guilty, or cause some sort of guilt trip. Who said that society defines who we are and what we like? That would make us all robots, liking the same things and disliking the same thing. We’d all turn our noses up at the people who secretly like dressing up as women, or those people who can’t decide whether to eat pistachio ice cream or chocolate. Are they guilty pleasures because most people don’t know it about you? Then it should be a lesser known fact. There is no point feeling guilty about something that makes you happy. Society does not control us. And if it does, then it shouldn’t.
