Free Time

Easter holidays have officially started. Almost everyone has left the flat, except for one person but he will be leaving tonight. Then I will be the sole owner of this flat. Strange.

All of a sudden I have free time. My coursework isn’t due until May, and though I could get started on it, I probably won’t. I don’t have any books I need to read except to go over the plots and things again. I find myself unused to this silence and I don’t know what to do with myself. Perhaps I cannot bring myself to start any work, knowing that it will be halted when I leave for Spain on Wednesday. I do not like stopping midway. Regardless, I am just perusing things, just wasting my time away. I wonder what I’m doing.

I wish the weather was nicer.

The two fish in my room [I’m looking after them for a friend], make noises. When they go to the surface their little mouths create popping noises as they suck on the space between the water and the air. It is a little strange to listen to. The last time I heard the sound was when I was also suffering from a previous night out. Hm. Coincidence? Maybe.

I think I shall go find a book to read. Stephen King’s On Writing has been laying forgotten on my shelf for a while now. Kerouac will just have to wait until the ride home.
